I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistical Science at Duke University. My research mainly focuses on distributed methods in high-dimensional and nonparametric statistics, with particular emphasis on challenges arising from privacy, communication, and computational constraints.

Previously, I was a post-doctoral researcher at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where I worked with T. Tony Cai. Before that, I completed my PhD at Delft University of Technology, under the supervision of Botond Szabó, Aad van der Vaart, and Harry van Zanten. Click here to download my thesis.

My research interests:

High-dimensional, nonparametric and semi-parametric statistics, specifically:

  • Distributed methods
  • Differential privacy
  • Information theory
  • Bayesian inference
  • Minimax theory
